Its supposed to be “White Cloud”, but today and potentially the next three days in Auckland are rain, showers, wind and rain clouding over to give way to constant precipitation!
Oh well, we had it good (mostly) whilst in California, Oregon and Washington States; and it was okay in Calgary, so what goes around comes around, and we are now being treated to some traditional Kiwi winter weather!
We spent yesterday’s glorious weather walking around Auckland city centre doing a bit of shopping, brewpub inspecting and planning our countrywide NZ bus trip!� We should be able to spend the next 3 weeks doing a fairly comprehensive bus and hostel tour of north and south islands, inc Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Franz Joseph, Wanaka,�Queenstown and Christchurch.� This will lead us nicely to our flight to Sydney in the first week of Sept.
Tonight we are going to an Auckland comedy club hoping that the humour is not too different between our two cultures!!

Left San Fran 9pm Monday night, got to Auckland a day and a half later, so actually its Wednesday 11th Aug! Damn datelines!!
Customs & Immigration were easier than expected- they inspected our tent, disinfected our walking shoes and let us on our way. We were met by family friend Geoff and 25mins later we were standing on their balcony at their nice home in south-ish Auckland watching the sunrise! What a great start…….
